Ostrich in the Kelly Mini II sellier is one of the more precise pairings in the Hermès exotic program. The structured sellier construction, with its exposed saddle stitching and rigid silhouette, suits the naturally architectural quality of ostrich leather, the follicle pattern distributing evenly across the panels without the interruption that a softer retourne construction would introduce. At the Mini I scale the full quill pattern registers across the body in a tight, consistent field.
Bleu de France is a saturated mid-tone blue with a clean, slightly cool character, sitting between the brightness of Bleu Electrique and the depth of Bleu Indigo. On ostrich, the color reads differently across the raised follicles and the flat surrounding skin, the tonal variation built into the material itself. Bleuet in ostrich does not require light to activate it. The color carries its own weight.
Palladium hardware completes the piece without warmth. Against a cool blue ostrich, silver hardware maintains tonal consistency across the bag, the turn-lock, chain strap hardware, and sangles reading as a continuous cool register.
