Rolex Milgauss Ref. 1019, Circa 1970, Full Set

$49,000.00

Rolex Milgauss Ref. 1019, circa 1970, full set with original box and papers

A remarkable and rarely seen example of Rolex’s original anti-magnetic professional tool watch, complete with its full set of original papers and an early serial in the 2.5 million range.

Case: 40mm Oyster case in stainless steel with a fixed bezel and Triplock crown. The case is exceptionally well preserved and has hardly been touched, with the 1019 reference clearly legible at 12 o’clock and the serial number fully intact with every digit visible at 6 o’clock. The screw down caseback is correctly hallmarked “1019” on the interior and dated 2/70, consistent with a watch produced in February 1970.

Bracelet: Reference 7836 full length folded link bracelet fitted with 580 end pieces. The Oysterlock foldover clasp is properly hallmarked and dated to match the watch.

Movement: Caliber 1580, a Swiss made mechanical self winding movement offering hours, minutes and seconds with no date function. COSC certified, reflecting the chronometer grade construction Rolex built into these early anti-magnetic references.

Dial: All original, an early Mark 1 example featuring the wonderful and rare square lollipop tritium markers, applied to the outer edges of the batons without touching the dial surface. The lume is fully intact across every marker with no loss whatsoever, even under 10x loupe inspection. The hands are nicely matched with lume that corresponds beautifully to the dial’s original tone.

This is a superb, honest example of one of Rolex’s most distinctive and sought after vintage professional references, a true collector’s piece and one of the finest 1019 examples available on the market today.
