Now live: an Audemars Piguet Royal Oak Chronograph ref. 26240OR in full 18k rose gold with a khaki green Grande Tapisserie dial. The 26240 is the 41mm chronograph AP introduced for the Royal Oak’s 50th anniversary, the first to run the in-house flyback caliber 4401 behind a display caseback. In like-new condition on its integrated gold bracelet.
Gérald Genta’s Royal Oak launched in 1972 and invented the luxury sports watch. The chronograph joined the family in the late 1990s and became one of AP’s most important models, but for decades it relied on an outsourced movement hidden behind a solid back.
The 26240 changed that. Launched in 2022, it introduced caliber 4401, an integrated column-wheel flyback chronograph developed in-house, with a 70-hour power reserve and a sapphire caseback to show it off. The case was refined at the same time, with sharper proportions and finishing that made the outgoing model look dated overnight.
In full rose gold with a green dial, it is one of the most coveted modern configurations of the line.
Like new, with minimal to no wear. The case and bracelet keep their crisp brushed and polished edges, the green Grande Tapisserie dial is flawless, and the 22k rose gold rotor carries the “50 Years” engraving. Everything functions as it should.
