Now Live: Audemars Piguet Royal Oak Ref. 15510ST, Black Dial

Audemars Piguet Royal Oak, Time and Date Only, Black Dial

Now live: an Audemars Piguet Royal Oak ref. 15510ST in steel with a black Grande Tapisserie dial. This is the time-and-date Royal Oak in its purest form, the most direct descendant of Gérald Genta’s 1972 original, updated with the in-house caliber 4302 and a slimmer, sharper case. Mint condition, virtually unworn.

Why It Matters

When the Royal Oak launched in 1972, a steel watch priced like gold was considered reckless. Genta’s octagonal bezel, exposed screws and integrated bracelet went on to define an entire category, and the three-hand Royal Oak remains the version that most faithfully carries that original idea.

The 15510 replaced the long-running 15500 in 2022. It brought the newer caliber 4302 with a 70-hour power reserve, a thinner 10.4mm case and refined bracelet links, along with a “50 Years” rotor marking the anniversary.

Black is the sharpest of its dial colors, putting the Tapisserie texture and the alternating brushed and polished surfaces in high contrast.

This Example

Mint, with virtually no signs of wear. The case and bracelet keep their original crisp edges and finishing, the black dial is flawless, and the watch runs exactly as it should.
